Mechanical Engineer

Tree Composites is looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will join the manufacturing team for our current and future projects. Tree Composites aims to provide solutions to accelerate offshore wind deployment. How? By designing and manufacturing composite joints for offshore wind foundations. We are a start-up, founded in 2020 to bring our disruptive technology from TU Delft research to the market. Our office can be found in The Buccaneer, the offshore & energy accelerator in Delft, our workshop is close to the TU Delft campus.

In the coming years, we will continue to work on R&D projects, focusing on creating high-quality joints and subassemblies for testing by the research group at TU Delft. We are also enhancing the development of our manufacturing processes, including automation and upscaling, to meet future market demands.

Your responsibilities

•   Design and develop new (automated) equipment to enhance our composite manufacturing process.

•   Construct and conduct testing of these new systems within our operations.

•   Seamlessly integrate equipment from external suppliers.

Your background

•  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics or related discipline.

•   Starter or 1-3 years of (composite) working experience preferably in composite, offshore (wind) industry, or anywhere you’ve     learned skills you can put to good use.

•  Relevant experience in automating (composite) manufacturing processes.

•   Affinity with electronical control systems is a plus.

•   Willing to develop hands-on skills with composite manufacturing.

•   Proficient in CAD modelling.

•   You are a practical person who likes getting stuff done.

•   You are fluent in English, proficiency in Dutch is preferred.

•   A valid European Union work permit is required for this position.
