Tree Composites and grid operator TenneT are joining forces to explore how composite technology can enable lighter, more manufacturable and futureโproof foundations for offshore substations.
Together with Iv and fabrication yards, the consortium will further develop and assess composite joint solutions as an alternative to conventional welded joints in offshore jackets.

โข ๐ฆ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ fabrication times due to reduced welding
โข ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ขโ footprint through reduced steel use

โข ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ within existing European fabrication capacity, even as offshore platforms grow and supply chain pressure increases
To mark this occasion, a TenneT delegation visited Tree Compositesโ facilities in Delft to officially kick off the project.
For Tree Composites, this collaboration reflects continued industry engagement in alternative joint technologies for heavily loaded offshore structures. We look forward to advancing the technical assessment together in the coming months.
